WHAT TYPE OF LEATHER DO YOU USE? Full grain 100% vegetable tanned leather sourced from one of the world's premiere vegetable tanneries located in the USA.
WHY IS VEGETABLE TANNED? Vegetable tanning is one of the oldest processes known to man and is natural and eco-friendly. It gets its namesake from the natural tannins of tree bark used in the tanning process. It is a slow process that takes several weeks to complete.
WHAT IS A PATINA? The color of vegetable tanned leather changes with exposure to natural elements. Your leather will develop a slight sheen and darken to a rich and beautiful color with time and use. A good patina is a prized hallmark of the highest quality leather.
WHAT TYPE OF HARDWARE DO YOU USE? All hardware is solid brass.
HOW DO I CARE FOR MY LEATHER GOODS? Every piece of leather is conditioned before it leaves the studio. Every 6 months or so, apply a leather conditioner sparingly per the manufacturers instructions. We use Smith’s Leather Balm which is all natural and smells great. Be aware that the conditioner will slightly darken your leather. Apply lightly and then buff with a soft cloth.
WHERE DO YOU SOURCE YOUR SUPPLIES FROM? Currently, all supplies are sourced within the USA.
WHAT ABOUT YOUR PACKAGING? All packaging is sourced with the USA and is made from post-consumer and post-industrial material which is recyclable, reusable, and in some cases compostable.
DO YOU GIFT WRAP? We put care into the beautiful presentation of each and every order. If you would like us to remove the invoice and include a hand written note for a gift recipient, please let us know at the time of purchase.
WHEN WILL MY ORDER SHIP? All Dove Grey items are made to order and made by hand. Each item in the shop has a guideline with approximate wait times. The more complex an item is to make, the longer it will take to leave our studio. We endeavor to fulfill your order as quickly as possible, but we believe that you will appreciate the time and care that goes into every detail before leaving our studio. Demand and busier times of year will extend the lead time. You will be notified by email with tracking once your item has shipped.

WHAT TYPE OF SHIPPING PACKAGING DO YOU USE? It's important to us that our packaging is as eco-friendly and sustainable as possible. All packaging is made in the USA from recycled content which can be reused, recycled, and composted. In an effort to reduce waste, our shipping boxes are custom sized to fit our products and are made from 100% post-consumer and post-industrial waste. We also use 100% recycled Poly Mailers which are reusable and recyclable.
